We first
discovered Madeira in 1996 following a recommendation from a Portuguese friend. We fell in love with the
island and visited many times before deciding to buy an apartment in 2001. Our criteria were demanding:
near to central Funchal and public transport; quiet without being
isolated; close to all amenities and,
above all, a lovely view. After two years' searching, we found Ocean Cliffs and have completed the
refurbishment of our second apartment, which is adjacent to the first, thus enabling, for example, two
couples to go on holiday together but enjoy their own space. Our knowledge and love of the island,
together with the support of our dedicated team, helps to make your holiday run smoothly.
There
are many good taxi drivers on Madeira but we believe Teresa França is the best! Teresa took us on
an island tour during our first visit and we were impressed with her driving skills and her excellent
English. When we bought our apartment we came across her card in a pile of discarded papers and hey
presto, it was the start of a good working relationship. Teresa can meet you at the airport and, should
you be delayed, you can rely on her being there to meet you whatever the time. She can also take you on
super half/full day trips, if you so wish.
Our team
is completed by Susana Gomes, our Housekeeper. Susana is a true gem. Like Teresa, we met her on our
first visit to Madeira. Susana prepares the apartments for your arrival and is at the end of her mobile
phone if you have an emergency. She speaks excellent English and for bookings of two weeks or over she
will let herself in to clean if you do not wish to stay in. She will also arrange for you to drop off or
leave your cases should you have an early arrival or late departure.
